TOP FICTIONARY CHARACTERS

OK, these are super lame, but they come from my childhood/teenage years (or at least my childhood/teenage fantasies)...

Holden Caufield (Catcher in the Rye)
What to say about Holden Caufield.... An extremely compelling character, flawed but admirable in his journey. This is a coming of age story filled with the loss of  idealism, questioning and disillusionment.
All the characters in the book feel real.

Sam Emerson (The Lost Boys)
Corey Haim the actor seemed super cool and this character epitomized that. Ah to be 15, summer, no work, and vampires invading your city. The city Santa Carla isn't even a real city. It's based off of Santa Cruz but they couldn't use Santa Cruz's name because the city didn't want to be known for gang violence.
Walter Galt (The Snarkout Boys)
Fun, just fun.
Snarking Out (sneaking out of your house late at night, going to the movie theater, hanging out, and sneaking back home without getting caught).

Ponyboy Curtis (The Outsiders)
Again, coming of age, questioning, disillusioned yet hopeful.
Greasers vs Socs.

Louis de Pointe du Lac (Interview with the Vampire)
Eternal angst, self loathing, damnation.
Hmmm...seeing a pattern here.
